«Is this supposed to be Dastan Satpayev? You just took a model of a random Asian guy and thought you could get away with it? I am extremely disappointed,» the user wrote.
The post has garnered nearly 119,000 views. Users in the comments are also debating the player’s in-game likeness. Some agree that Satpayev is difficult to recognize, while others say this is normal for a young player.
Some users pointed out that Satpayev’s inclusion in the game is what matters most, arguing that he is not yet prominent enough for EA Sports to create a highly accurate 3D facial model. Others believe players have to earn a high-quality likeness, citing Kylian Mbappé as an example. His face in older FIFA titles also bore little resemblance to his real-life appearance, they noted.

EA Sports FC is a football video game series developed by Electronic Arts, formerly known for its FIFA franchise. The latest installment, EA Sports FC 27, is scheduled for official release Sept. 25, although some users already have access to the game.
The title features thousands of real-life football players. While developers create detailed facial models for many high-profile players, the likenesses of others may be less accurate.
