London Fashion Week saw yet another unconventional runway performance. Kursiv LifeStyle reports on how pregnancy and breast milk became part of an unusual fashion show.
The show took place Sept. 21. The collection was created by Greek designer Dimitra Petsa, who dedicated the event to motherhood, pregnancy and the changes the female body undergoes.
Pregnant singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock was among the participants. She appeared on the runway in a white outfit that exposed her baby bump and featured an accessory that became the centerpiece of the performance.
During the show’s finale, streams of liquid resembling breast milk began spraying from her bra, landing on models standing nearby.
A celebration of motherhood
Both the show and the collection were titled «Holy Milk.» In addition to the pregnant Pinnock, the event featured other expectant mothers as well as mothers with their children. Pinnock is currently expecting her third child; she already has twins, born in 2021. The singer described the runway experience as empowering.
In a social media post following the show, Pinnock said pregnancy is often treated as something that should be hidden, with women encouraged to cover up, be cautious and choose clothing that accommodates their changing bodies.

She said this can cause women to lose sight of the fact that their bodies belong to them and that they have every right to be proud of them. She described the show as an opportunity to walk the runway while pregnant without hiding what the body is capable of and to celebrate it.
