Significant earthquake strikes Almaty today

At about 09:40 a.m. on Sept. 28, an estimated magnitude-4.4 earthquake struck the Almaty area. Residents received immediate mobile alerts warning them of the quake.
No injuries or damage were reported. The tremors were also felt in Kyrgyzstan.
