The Rolling Stones are reportedly working on new material, just three months after releasing their latest album, «Foreign Tongues.» Jazz saxophonist Courtney Pine, who recently recorded with the band, revealed the news, suggesting that the rock veterans have no plans to slow down.

Speaking on the BBC Radio 3 program «Private Passions,» Pine said he had worked with the Rolling Stones a couple of weeks earlier. He had previously collaborated with frontman Mick Jagger, recording saxophone parts for Jagger’s 1993 solo album, «Wandering Spirit.»

Mick Jagger keeps writing songs

The Rolling Stones have yet to announce a follow-up to «Foreign Tongues.» However, Jagger said in June that he had begun writing new songs before the album’s release. At the time, he suggested that some of the material might be recorded by other artists, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Guitarist Keith Richards also confirmed that Jagger was continuing to write music, joking that he just won’t stop.

Another chart record within reach

Released July 10, «Foreign Tongues» debuted at No. 1 on the U.K. Official Albums Chart, giving the Rolling Stones their 15th chart-topping album and tying them with the Beatles. Only Robbie Williams, with 16 No. 1 albums, has more. Another chart-topping release would put the Stones in a position to claim the record outright.

The band has also continued to release new material and projects. In early October, the Rolling Stones unveiled a music video for «Mr. Charm,» featuring actor Alexander Skarsgård.

Meanwhile, Richards contributed a recording of «Bright Lights, Big City» to the soundtrack album «Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album,» scheduled for release Nov. 19 alongside the video game.
