Kyrgyzstan aims for Central Asia’s lowest inflation by 2027

Kyrgyzstan aims to achieve the lowest inflation rate in Central Asia by the end of 2027. The government plans to achieve this through a state program designed to curb price increases starting Jan. 1, according to Askat Alagozov, official spokesperson for Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
«God willing, we will finish 2027 with the lowest inflation rate in Central Asia. We are hopeful for that,» Alagozov wrote on Facebook.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan plans to allocate roughly $419 million to a two-year plan to stabilize prices and curb inflation in 2026 and 2027. The primary goal is to keep price growth at around 7%.
The National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan currently reports inflation at 8.1%.
Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has offered a less optimistic forecast. The fund estimates that Kyrgyzstan could move in the opposite direction and end up with the highest rate of consumer price growth among Central Asian nations next year.
