A camera trap in Buiratau National Park in central Kazakhstan captured an unusual scene: a wild boar chased wolves, forcing the predators to flee. Kursiv LifeStyle looks at the details.
The video posted by the Ministry of Ecology shows a wild boar chasing wolves — an unusual reversal of roles, with the predators fleeing instead of the prey.
Although the scene may look funny, a wild boar is actually a fairly dangerous animal. It can run at high speeds and inflict serious injuries, so it’s no surprise that the wolves chose to back off.
«Wildlife has a character of its own: sometimes, a single unexpected moment reveals who’s the bravest. This camera-trap footage is another reminder that nature never ceases to amaze,» the ministry noted.
Buiratau National Park lies on the border between the Akmola and Karaganda regions and covers nearly 89,000 hectares. Wild boars and wolves are among its inhabitants, regularly appearing on camera traps and rangers’ cameras.
Kursiv.media previously reported on a wild boar that charged onto a busy road in Turkey and knocked down a man crossing the street.
