Kazakhstan receives second Airbus A400M military transport aircraft

The second Airbus A400M Atlas military transport aircraft has arrived in Almaty from Spain for Kazakhstan’s Air Defense Forces. It is expected to enhance Kazakhstan’s military air transport capabilities, including the transportation of equipment, evacuation of people and delivery of humanitarian aid.
In addition to its defense tasks, the A400M can also be used in emergency response and recovery operations. They can also support Kazakhstan’s participation in international peacekeeping missions by transporting Kazakhstani military personnel. Aircraft of this class allow the country to deploy its peacekeeping contingent independently.
Kazakhstani crews and engineering personnel underwent theoretical and practical training at the Airbus training center in Seville. They received instruction in aircraft piloting, operation and maintenance.
The Airbus A400M can transport heavy equipment over long distances and land on short, unpaved runways.
The aircraft is currently in service with 10 countries: Kazakhstan, Turkey, Germany, Malaysia, Indonesia, France, the U.K., Spain, Belgium and Luxembourg.
