Akniet graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a degree in international journalism and holds a Master of Social Sciences. She is currently a first-year Ph.D. student at Erciyes University in Turkey. Since 2012, she has worked in journalism for organizations and media outlets including the Kazakhstan War Veterans Foundation, HOLA News and Malim Media. Since October 2023, she has been writing for Kursiv Media, covering international economics, geopolitical developments, and social and legal issues in Kazakhstan.
