Kazakhstanis expect cryptocurrencies to become part of their everyday financial lives, including for paying for goods and services, within the next three to five years. That is according to a 2026 survey of 1,930 users conducted by Binance Kazakhstan.
The study found that 32.8% of participants cited paying for goods and services as a current or potential use case for cryptocurrency. By comparison, 60.2% cited investment, 58.5% earning additional income, 48.8% long-term savings and 42.6% trading.
Thus, while cryptocurrency remains primarily an investment tool for users, it is increasingly being considered for everyday financial transactions. Some 64.6% of respondents believe crypto payments will see the fastest growth over the next three to five years — the highest figure among the categories presented to participants.

International transfers ranked second, cited by 42.6% of respondents. Investments were cited by 42.1%, crypto cards by 35% and stablecoins by 27.8%.
Growing cryptocurrency use

Meanwhile, 78.6% of respondents said they believed interest in cryptocurrencies in Kazakhstan had increased in 2026, with 36.7% reporting significant growth.
Perceptions of the market itself are also shifting. Some 40.3% of participants said the crypto market is gradually becoming more practical, while 25.1% already view it as part of the financial system.
Overall, 71% of respondents said they trust cryptocurrencies as a financial instrument to some degree. Of these, 41.3% said they tend to trust digital assets, while 29.7% said they trust them completely.
What could drive adoption
Study participants cited the development of payment capabilities, enhanced security, clearer regulation and ease of use as key conditions for broader cryptocurrency adoption.

At the same time, users continue to research the market independently. Social media was identified as the primary source of information about cryptocurrencies in the study, while participants also turn to crypto platforms and educational resources.
Some 91.2% of participants believe cryptocurrency use in Kazakhstan will become more widespread over the next three to five years. Of these, 46.4% said such growth is likely, while another 44.8% anticipate significant growth.
«The survey results show that user interest in digital assets is diversifying. Investments remain important, but there is also growing interest in practical use cases, such as payments, transfers and other financial transactions,» said Nurkhat Kushimov, general manager of Binance Kazakhstan.
Nearly half of respondents (47.9%) believe cryptocurrencies will become part of everyday financial activity within five years. Another 20.3% expect digital assets to be used primarily for investment purposes.
