South Korean fast-food chain Mom’s Touch plans to open at least 50 restaurants in Kazakhstan over the next decade. The company is expanding its presence in Central Asia under a master franchise agreement with Shin-Line Group, a Kazakhstani food conglomerate, The Korea Herald reported.

The first restaurant in Kazakhstan is scheduled to open in the first half of 2027. Under the agreement, Shin-Line’s subsidiary, Mom’s Touch Central Asia LLP, will also operate in neighboring Kyrgyzstan.

Last year, Mom’s Touch entered the Uzbekistan market through a franchise agreement. The company now aims to establish Kazakhstan as another regional hub, with plans to expand into major cities, including Astana.

Mom’s Touch’s local partner, Shin-Line, is the region’s largest ice cream producer and controls over 40% of Central Asia’s ice cream market. The group also operates a logistics network spanning 11 countries.

Shin-Line has 16 branches, 100 distributors and approximately 130,000 points of sale. It exports products to Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. In 2025, the company produced 37,000 tons of goods, of which approximately 15,000 tons (40%) were exported.

Since 2009, the group has also been producing frozen ready-to-cook food products. In 2012, it launched the production of instant noodles. In 2024, Shin-Line began expanding the South Korean CU convenience store chain into Kazakhstan. The company currently operates more than 70 CU stores, primarily in Almaty.

In Kazakhstan, Mom’s Touch plans to introduce its signature chicken burgers, made with whole chicken thigh fillets, along with fried chicken and pizza.

The company expects strong demand for its chicken-based menu in Kazakhstan, where people widely consume meat-based dishes. A Mom’s Touch representative also noted that the chain intends to make Kazakhstan a key hub for its Central Asian operations.
