Oktyabrskiy District Court of the city of Bishkek ruled that Kumtor Gold Company is obliged to pay $25 million to clear off debt for insurance fees that the company failed to pay on time, Interfax news agency reported citing the High Court of Kyrgyzstan press service.

The court decision followed the claims of the State Tax Service, which accused Kumtor Gold Company of not paying insurance fees.

«The company is obliged to pay $24.8 million to pay off a debt plus an administrative fee of $124,000,» the court said.

Kazakhstan’s Interpol National Central Bureau in conjunction with U.S. law enforcement determined and detained three Kazakhstani citizens who were trying to hide in America, according to Nurdilda Oraz, an official representative of the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Sappers of the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan started to work in areas located near the border with Tajikistan to neutralize unexploded ordnance, according to TASS news agency citing the Kyrgyzstan Border Service.

On May 16, 2021, the airline Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will open a new flight between Nur-Sultan and Abu-Dhabi with a frequency of two flights a week. On May 22 the air travel from Abu-Dhabi to Almaty will also be available twice a week.
