The draw for Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam tournament of 2026, took place in London. Kazakhstan’s singles players learned their opening-round opponents.

World No. 2 Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, will face France’s Lois Boisson (World No. 154) in the first round, while Yulia Putintseva (World No. 85) will face Germany’s Tatjana Maria (World No. 112).

Alexander Bublik (No. 11) will face Australia’s Thanasi Kokkinakis (No. 492), while Alexander Shevchenko (No. 98) will take on Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime (No. 4).

Timofey Skatov (No. 178) could have become the fifth representative of Kazakhstan in the tournament but lost in the final qualifying round to Frenchman Kyrian Jacquet (No. 136) after defeating Argentina’s Alex Barrena (No. 207) and Sweden’s Elias Ymer (No. 185).

The draws for the doubles, mixed doubles and junior events featuring Kazakhstanis will be announced later.

The 2026 Wimbledon Championships will take place in London from June 29 to July 12. It is the season’s third Grand Slam tournament and the only one played on grass.

The total prize money is £64.2 million (around $84.8 million), up 20% from the previous year. The singles champions and runners-up will receive £3.6 million (around $4.8 million) and £1.8 million (around $2.4 million), respectively.

The Wimbledon main draw, as at the other three Grand Slam events, features 128 players in each singles draw, 64 teams in each doubles draw and 32 teams in the mixed doubles draw.

The defending Wimbledon singles champions are Jannik Sinner of Italy and Iga Świątek of Poland.
