Kazatomprom, the national nuclear company in Kazakhstan has lowered its outlook for uranium production this year from 22,500 tons to 21,700 tons, according to the company.
Lower expectations in production results in 2021 have been caused by delays in mine preparation work due to the pandemic. COVID-19’s impact on the entire supply chain was tremendous. Now the company has no or limited access to some materials and equipment (chemicals, some pipes and pumps, etc.). That’s why the company has adjusted the schedule.
